Once the flanges are welded in place the included V-band clamp slips over the connections and secures the flanges together, providing a leak-free sea. Conventional exhaust flanges multiple nuts, bolts, washers and a gasket. A V-band kit eliminates all of these and allows for a connection with a single nut.
